The space
✨ Welcome to the Wizard’s Escape Castle ✨
Spanning over 7,500 sq. ft. on 3 spellbound acres, this 1870s manor has been transformed into a true Wizard’s paradise. Gather your fellowship of witches, wizards, and curious Muggles, hop on your broomsticks, and prepare for an unforgettable magical quest.
🪄 Stop 1: The Enchanted Kitchen
Begin your journey where potions (and pancakes) are brewed—the magical kitchen, fully equipped for feasts grand or simple.
📚 Stop 2: The Cozy living
Slip into the living room and lose yourself in a book, or vanish beneath the staircase nook for a secret game or two.
🏰 Stop 3: The Castle Experience
Step into the Greatest Hall, where banquets, birthdays, and feasts fit for 30 await under glittering chandeliers. Beyond, test your wits in the Potion Classroom and Black Family Room—the enchanted heart of our escape room adventure (with online clues for any stranded humans). Here you’ll also find a bar, a great hearth for gathering, and a TV for enchanted screenings. The Library of Wizard Games & Puzzles will keep both apprentices and masters spellbound for hours.
🛌 Magical Chambers
Retire to your House Dorm Room, where each bed whispers castle dreams. The Professor’s Suite awaits those who dare to sleep like royalty in chambers fit for a headmaster.
🕯️ Stop 4: The Hidden Realms
Descend into the Dark Alley Basement, a game room alive with challenges for wizards of every age. Step outside to the Forbidden Forest Courtyard, complete with firepit and grill, where tales are best told under starlight. And don’t forget the Rooftop Tower—perfect for stargazing or listening to the midnight train carrying young witches and wizards to the castle gates.
🪙 Stop 5: Wizard’s Disc Golf
Finally, test your skills on our 18-hole Wizard’s Disc Golf course. Will you claim the champion’s crown, or will the discs be bewitched against you?

The Wizard's Escape Room
The notorious 4 marauders created a very detailed secret map of the castle. While exploring the castle, they found 7 secret passageways out of the castle. At night, they used their animus spell to sneak out of the castle and explore. Now the castle is under attack. You must use your Wizard skills to uncover the 7 passageways. The dilemma you face is that YOU KNOW WHO has destroyed 6 of the passageways, and he is not aware that there is a 7th way out. You have 60 minutes to escape the correct secret passageway.
Gryf Escape Room
While you are at the castle, your triumphs will earn your House points, while any rule-breaking will lose House points. At the end of the hour, the House with the most points is awarded the House cup, a great honor indeed. Points are awarded to the House where the student in question belonged to when he or she did good deeds, correctly answered a question in class, won an inter-house Quidditch match or solved puzzles. Take your house stones and put them in the hour glass before your time is up. The first one to escape wins the House Cup!
Scavenger hunt. Spend hours finding the 7 cruxes to open up a secret Room and other magical items throughout the castle, and only one person can win a special prize.
Game room features pool table, foosball table, air hockey table and bumper pool table. Or spend countless hours playing an epic game of hide and seek.
Each of 5 bedroom has a trundle roll away underneath. So you can sleep 15 in beds. There are also 2 queen sleeper sofa in basement game room and 1 in the secret room (bring your own linens for these). Early and late check available free depending on cleaners schedule.

The Escape room and Scavenger hunt can take up to 60-90 minutes each and is included in the price.
Weekends and Holidays are a 2 night minimum. Summer- June- August is a 2
night minimum. (Unless there is a 1 night opening on the calendar)
Check in / Check out is 4pm and 10am. There is some flexibility here. Just ask
Additional fees-
There is a $250 cleaning fee for over night trips. In addition there are taxes and a credit card fee. When you check out you will see the total. Parties over 15 are charged an event fee per person, contact me for pricing. The pool is an an additional $200 and is open May - September (it is not heated but we have a solar cover)
Day rates are typically 5-6 hours (flexible) 2pm- 9pm and are Monday - Thursday (September - May) $500 - To see this rate use promo code- dayrate On the site book it like its an overnight. Parties over 15 people is going to be slightly higher. Please check the calendar for availability. Email [email protected] with questions.
The fire pit is open year around but firewood is not provided.
I can only credit cancellations for a future date if I am able to get the same dates re-booked. (Day rates can be rebooked)

Our group of 11 had an amazing four-night stay split between Wizards Escape and Hagrid’s Hut (Hut specific review on Hut’s page). The house itself is a true work of art, beautifully decorated with impeccable Harry Potter-themed details that delighted all, regardless of age. There was plenty of space for our group, with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and a well-stocked kitchen. Dining together in the Great Hall was a special experience and allowed everyone to share stories of what they had done. Wizard’s Escape themed escape rooms were challenging, creative, and expertly designed. The scavenger hunt, Wizard Golf, firepit, and huge in-ground pool added even more fun and kept everyone engaged. We were impressed by the attention to detail and how well everything was maintained and updated. Nate is the perfect host and went above and beyond, providing helpful instructions and support before and during our stay, ensuring a smooth and memorable visit. Highly recommend Wizard's Escape!!!!

Absolutely amazing!!! This place exceeded expectations with all the incredible attention to detail. Clearly setting up this place was a labor of love for all things Harry Potter. The ambiance in this old house is unmatched. Nate was very responsive to all messages and was committed to us enjoying the space. We stayed here with our five (grown) kids and their spouses and kids (aged 5 months to 9 years). Everyone had an absolute blast! The pool for us was key for hours of fun in the hot Maryland summer. The inside was cool and comfortable, with the rooms all decorated in unique Hogwarts style and everything was clean. We utilized the fire pit, the pool table and other games, as well as did the scavenger hunt (a favorite!) and one of the escape rooms - which was very cool. Love this place! Our family members are all asking when we can come back again. Thank you, Nate!
Great family trip!!
This is the first getaway we've taken with (almost) all of our kids and grandkids. We loved the fun magical Harry Potter theme. The rooms were fun to explore and there was lots of awesome photo opportunities. Everyone loved the pool. It was very clean and well maintained. We found all but five of the scavenger hunt items so we didn't win anything, but it was still fun to search. We also weren't able to get through either of the escape rooms - truthfully, I think everyone was just distracted with other things to do and getting to spend time with so many family members. There was adequate sleeping space for everyone. The neighborhood was very peaceful. We had a few minor issues, but nothing that prevented us from having a fantastic time. The owner was usually very responsive. There was no one booked the night before so he was kind enough to let us check in a little early. The check in process was quick and easy. I can't wait to see the new place he's creating!
Incredible stay
Absolutely awesome! House accommodated everyone, always a new adventure to experience. Host was excellent, polite and accommodating! 10 out of 10! Will recommend this location to everyone and we will definitely be staying again!
