The Castle — officially Wizard's Escape — is a 7,500-square-foot, 1870s manor on 3 private acres in Adamstown, Maryland, transformed into a fully immersive, Harry Potter-inspired vacation rental. It's the flagship of the Wizard's Escape properties (alongside Forbidden Hut and Dark Manor nearby), built around two custom escape rooms, a castle-wide scavenger hunt, and rooms themed after the wizarding world — from the Greatest Hall to the Potion Classroom.

What makes it unique?

Two fully themed escape rooms, a castle-wide scavenger hunt for 7 hidden cruxes, an 18-hole Wizard's Disc Golf course, and a Library of Wizard Games & Puzzles set The Castle apart from a standard large rental home. The house itself is a journey: start in the Enchanted Kitchen, relax in the Cozy Living room, gather for a feast in the Greatest Hall (seats up to 30), test your wits in the Potion Classroom and Black Family Room, retire to the House Dorm Room or the upgraded Professor's Suite, then explore the Dark Alley Basement game room, the Forbidden Forest Courtyard firepit, and the Rooftop Tower.

Sleeping arrangements

5 bedrooms with 10 beds total; each bedroom includes a trundle roll-away, so the home sleeps 15 in beds. Two additional queen sleeper sofas are in the basement game room, and one more is in the secret room (guests should bring their own linens for the sleeper sofas). Early and late check-in/out is sometimes available at no cost, depending on the cleaning schedule.

• The Wizard's Escape Room — a 60-minute challenge to find the one true secret passageway out of 7, while a hidden villain has sabotaged the other 6.
• Gryf Escape Room — a House-points challenge where guests earn points for good deeds and puzzle-solving, then race to fill their hourglass and win the House Cup.
• Scavenger hunt — hours of searching the castle and grounds for 7 hidden cruxes and other magical items, with a prize for the winner.
• Game room with a pool table, foosball, air hockey, and bumper pool.
• Wizard's Disc Golf — an 18-hole course across the 3-acre grounds.
• Seasonal outdoor pool (May–September, additional $200 fee, not heated but solar-covered).

With 5 bedrooms, multiple common spaces, and a Greatest Hall built for banquets and feasts for up to 30, The Castle is designed for extended families to cook, eat, and gather together instead of splitting across hotel rooms. Past guests have brought three generations at once — from 5-month-olds to grandparents — and used the pool, firepit, and game room to keep every age group entertained.

Guests regularly combine The Castle with Forbidden Hut next door for larger multi-family trips — ask us about booking both properties together for one connected event.
