Forbidden Hut — officially Wizard's Forbidden Hut Escape — is a Harry Potter-inspired vacation rental on 2 private acres in Adamstown, Maryland, right next door to The Castle. Styled as the Gamekeeper's own dwelling on the edge of a “Forbidden Dark Forest,” it's built around two themed escape rooms, a Dragon Egg scavenger hunt, and rooms decorated as corners of the wizarding world — from the Gamekeeper's private chamber to the Magical Creatures Classroom.

Forbidden Hut sleeps up to 15 guests across 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, with bunk and trundle configurations that work especially well for families with kids. It's a great fit for family reunions, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and any group that wants games and activities built right into the property. Weddings and larger events can be accommodated for an additional cost. Guests must be 27+ to book, and a signed rental contract is required.

Two themed escape rooms — The Vault of Shadows (a 2-hour challenge) and The Time Turner Heist (a 60-minute adventure) — a Dragon Egg scavenger hunt across the grounds, an 18-hole Wizard's Disc Golf Pitch, and a separate Gamekeeper's Game Hut stocked with bumper pool, darts, giant Connect Four, tic-tac-toe, and chess. Inside, guests explore the Gamekeeper's private chamber and secret escape-room office, a dining hall, and a cozy living room filled with magical relics, plus a covered outdoor living area with a Firepit Cauldron for evenings under the stars.

Sleeping arrangements

6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms across two floors. Main floor: Bedroom 1 with a king bed (no stairs), its own full bath, plus an office, laundry, living room, kitchen, and dining room. Upstairs: Bedroom 2 with a queen bed, twin bunkbed, and a separate trundle, with its own full bath; Bedroom 3 with a bunk bed (full over two twins) and a trundle; Bedroom 4 with a queen bed and a trundle; and Bedroom 5/playroom with 2 futons. Bedrooms 3 through 5 share a full bath. Four wifi-only TVs come loaded with wizard movies, and guests can also use their own streaming services.
